NFPA 1851 Is A Federal Mandate


As an ISP, FIRE W.I.R.E. LLC follows:



NFPA 1851 Standard on Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Protective Ensemble for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting 2014 Edition 


FIRE W.I.R.E. LLC, Is an Independent Service Provider (ISP) and is located in Albuquerque, NM. We Wash, Inspect, & Repair Fire Fighter Bunker Gear: 

  • Advanced Washing, Inspecting, and Repairing follows NFPA 1851 guidelines. 
  • Advanced repairs are conducted on the Outer Shell, Thermal Liner, and Moisture Barrier. 
  • FIRE W.I.R.E. LLC is third party Verified and maintains accreditation of certification through INTERTEK.

WASHING

All Washing, Inspecting, & Repairs are done at our Business Location at 813 El Serrano CT SW Albuquerque, NM 87105.

Per NFPA 1851 Section 7,

Advanced Process for washing the Ensemble Include: 

  • Washing Products maintain a 6.5 - 10-5  PH factor.
  • Water Temperature maintains 40o C (105o F). 
  • Extraction does not exceed 100g Force. 
  • All garment elements are hung to air dry. 

INSPECTION

Advanced Inspection is done using the Hydrostatic Pressure Tester.

Per NFPA 1851 Section 6,

Advanced Inspection of the Ensemble Include:

  • Advanced Inspection is conducted by a Verified ISP or Organization with a certified level of training.
  • Advanced Inspection is conducted every 12 months or when routine inspection indicates a problem exists. 
  • Moisture Barrier Advanced Inspection is conducted with Hydrostatic testing. 
  • Outer Shells and Liners are inspected for rips, tears, cuts, holes, charring, burn holes, melting and discoloration.

All Advanced Repairs follow NFPA 1851 Section 8 and Include:

  • Using like materials for all  repairs.


FIRE W.I.R.E. LLC will pick up and deliver your Fire Bunker Gear to your Fire Station in NM.
